Authors note: this essay is about how this is the best book of the misfortune event series.i chose this topic because i love how the author tells the story
In a cold dark cellar there were two tall brothers. One named Bob, the other was named Terence. They found six skeleton looking rats and one plump rat. They ate the seven rats for dinner with their family. After dinner Terence went to go find some clean water. Bob went to go beg people for money so they can buy food, blankets and clothing but he had no luck with getting any money. Once Terence came back with the clean water the whole family had a sip from the bucket. Like I described, the book, The End; by Lemony Snicket has a great point of view and a weird setting for the story.
First of all, the point of view is intriguing compared to other books I have read. One purpose is that it is Lemony Snicket’s point of view as well as the three main characters; Violet Baudelaire an inventor, Klaus Baudelaire the reader and Sunny Baudelaire, the baby who can cook. Another reason why is the author tells you one thing but means the other. An example would be when he tells about the storm, he says that he didn’t want to tell you-but he still tells you. He has also done this in his past books of the series.
Where the story is located is a very strange place. The place the Baudelaires are at is an island that has customs that they do not like. The customs are no weapons, no cruelty, no spices and no secrets. There is a whole lot of peer pressure on this island from the leader even though he says that “I won’t force you.” Count Olaf, the Baudelaires first guardian, is banned from the island because he is cruel and one of the customs is no cruelty. This is strange because he has always fooled innocent people by wearing disguises.
As you can see Lemony Snicket’s book, The End, has a great point of view and a weird setting. It is these characteristics that make the book more interesting and such fun to read. No matter how fun it is to read, Snicket’s book, The End, still has an important lesson in it which is how the world has both wicked and kindness in it. This lesson teaches the reader that we don’t know how people will treat us so it is important to always get to know someone before you trust them.
